Get Involved

Every voice matters. And with your help, we can rebuild more voices and lives through our unique programs. Fundraising for Shout at Cancer is a fun, rewarding way to make a direct impact in the lives of individuals recovering from laryngectomy. No matter what your passion or skillset is, there’s a way for you to get involved!

Challenge Yourself

Push your limits with a physical challenge and get sponsored for your efforts.

  • Run a Marathon: Whether you’re a seasoned runner or aiming for your first 5K, running for Shout at Cancer is a great way to raise awareness and funds.

  • Walk, Cycle, or Swim: Take on a charity walk, cycle, or swim to show your support. You can join an organized event or create your own challenge.

  • Take the Plunge: Try a sponsored skydive, abseil, or even a bungee jump! Feel the adrenaline while raising money for a great cause.

Host an Event

Bring your community together with a fun event, and donate the proceeds.

  • Bake Sale: Whip up your favourite treats and sell them to friends, family, or at your local market.

  • Charity Auction: Gather items from local businesses or your own personal collection and auction them off to raise funds.

  • Quiz Night: Test your friends’ knowledge with a quiz night at your local pub or community hall.

  • Dinner Party: Host a themed dinner party and ask guests to donate instead of bringing wine or dessert.

Get Creative

Use your hobbies or interests to raise money in unique ways.

  • Music or Art Showcase: Organise a local concert or art exhibition, featuring your talents or those of others.

  • Fashion Show: Host a sustainable fashion show, or organise a clothes swap with an entry fee.

  • Livestream or Gaming Marathon: If you’re a gamer, why not livestream your next gaming session and ask for donations?

  • Karaoke Night: Gather friends for a night of karaoke, and get them to sponsor your singing (or lack of it!).

Workplace and School Fundraisers

Get your colleagues or classmates involved with simple fundraising ideas.

  • Dress Down Day: Pay a small donation to wear casual clothes or fancy dress for the day.

  • Office Bake Off: Challenge your coworkers to a baking competition and sell the results to raise funds.

  • Fundraising at School: From sponsored silences to bake sales, there are plenty of ways to get your classmates or school involved.

Commemorate Special Occasions

Turn a birthday, wedding, or special milestone into a meaningful way to support Shout at Cancer.

  • Donate Your Birthday: Instead of gifts, ask for donations to help us rebuild voices and confidence.

  • In Memory Fundraising: Honour a loved one by organising a fundraiser in their memory, such as a walk or garden party.

Other Ideas

  • Sponsored Silence: Could you stay silent for a whole day or even a week? Get sponsored to stay quiet while raising awareness for those who’ve lost their voices.

  • Head Shave or Hair Dye: Daring enough to shave your head or dye your hair a bold colour? Get sponsored to take the plunge.

  • Garage Sale: Declutter your home and raise money by selling your unwanted items.
